Think Twice Before You Start a Low Fat Diet

So you might want to think twice before going on a low-fat diet, okay? I did some extensiveresearch on research regarding low-fat diets, and I put all of the links down below so you can checkit out. But look at this. In over 65 studies, and I’m talking meta-analysis randomized controlledtrials showed that the low-fat group had less weight loss and more blood lipids, so theircholesterol went up. Now, that’s interesting. Why would the cholesterol go up? Because your body

makes over 75% of the cholesterol that you have in your body. And so if you eat less, it makes more. There’s another study with over 28 overweight women, which showed a significantly loweredmetabolic rate. And there’s two other studies that I listed in this group. One was lower satiety, and the other one showed overeating. Well, that makes sense because if you’re going to lower yourfat in your diet, you’re going to be hungry a lot more and you’re going to eat more.

Now, as far as hormone effects with low-fat diets, there’s one study with 33 women showedsignificantly lowered estrogen and testosterone. Another study was 16 patients who had cysticbreast, significant reduction in all three types of estrogen. And then a study with 43 menshowed significant decrease in testosterone. Why is this? Because all of the sex hormones, estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, even cortisol are all made with cholesterol and fat.

That’s the raw material. You cut that out and you starve off those hormones.let’s look at insulin resistance there’s a study of 132 obese adults in the low-fat group therewas worsened insulin resistance and higher cholesterol and that’s because if you haveinsulin resistance you have more insulin and that actually can convert and make more cholesterolin the study of 34 korean adults the low-fat group showed more metabolic syndrome and diabetes and in

in another study that I quoted down below, if you compare a low-carb diet to a low-fat,the low-carb diet did much better with improving insulin resistance than the low-fat diet did. Then we get into the topic of mortality, death rate. There was actually a study with 11,000Japanese men, and a little over 74,000 women showed increased mortality by being on a low-fatdiet shortened lifespan. And then the effects on the brain, significant cognitive impairment.

There was one study, in one study, there was a change in mood where people were more angry andhostile. Now, why is that? Because your brain, your nervous system, your hormones need fat tofunction correctly. And then there was another study with over 4,000 men and 4,000 women thatshowed significant increase in depression. This is why this huge experiment with the low-fat dietover the last 30 or 40 years did not work. It wasn’t sustainable. It didn’t help people lose

weight. It messed with their hormones. And this also explains why the opposite diet, the high-fatdiet, low-carb, moderate-protein diet, the ketogenic diet, is effective. And people aresticking to it because it not only benefits their weight loss, but their hormones, their insulinresistance, their youthfulness, and their cognitive function.
