What is Alzheimer’s Disease? – Causes, Symptoms & Treatment Simplified by Dr. Berg
hey i’m back for another video and this is a very very important videoit’s entitled alzheimer’s simplified i think everyone needs to know this basic informationbecause it’s very important and it’s very simple and it can actually help you if you have alzheimer’sand even if you don’t what to do to prevent or avoid alzheimer’s all right here is the simplicityof what’s happening in alzheimer’s the neurons okay that connect to other neurons it’s called
the synapse are damaged all right they’re damaged to the point where they can’t use glucose fuelefficiently so they’re basically starving to death that’s what’s happening if you starve anything todeath it’s not going to work right in a normal aging brain you’re going to have a loss of glucoseuptake roughly about 10%, but only in the frontal lobe, okay? In the frontal lobe of your brain. That is the part of the brain that is acting as like a relay switch to your database, your memories,
involved in executive decisions like problem solving. And you may not even have any cognitivedeficits at all, no symptoms at all, even with the 10% loss of glucose uptake. Thank goodnesswe have a lot of extra brain tissue to spare, right? But with an Alzheimer’s brain, it’sdifferent. We not only have a loss of glucose uptake in the frontal brain right here, we alsohave in the parietal and the temporal lobes. So more of the brain is involved and the brain just
cannot absorb glucose very well anymore. So it’s starving. So there goes the memory, the spatialmemory, not remembering where you put things, where did I park my car? So here’s the good news.ketones can be used as a fuel, believe it or not, as a preferred fuel to bypass this damageand feed the neurons. Okay. I mean, that’s actually really, really good news. If your bodyhas ketones and glucose in your blood, your body will use ketones as a priority,
which tells us that ketones are the preferred fuel and the type of fuel that our brains actuallydesperately need and do very well on. However, if you’re on a high carb diet and there’s onlyglucose there and no ketones, it’s going to try to use glucose. The problem is it can’t use glucose. So that’s when you start having all the symptoms and the breakdown. So the next question is this, how can we start feeding the brain more ketones? Well, guess what? You go on a low carb diet.
It’s called Healthy Keto. I put the link down below. Number two, you do fasting, intermittent fasting. Your body will start tapping into your own fat, converting it to ketones, and feed your brain. Now, there’s two other things you can do. You can get exogenous ketones. They’recalled ketone salts. They’re like supplements. And you can start taking those. And basically,it’ll just feed the brain ketones. It’s a little pricey. But if you’re having symptoms like that,
it’s going to be worth it. Also, you can do MCT oil, which will turn in the ketones very fast inyour liver and supply the brain the ketones it needs. All right, so that is the simple version. This is the data that everyone needs to know because you want to know what is the mostimportant fuel you need to feed the body if you have this condition, if you have certain geneticweaknesses to this condition, or even if you don’t and you just want to avoid this condition,
now you know ketones are the answer. So for those of you that are new to my channel, get additional information by watching this video on this page.
