The #1 Best Remedy to Reverse Early Cataracts
Can you reverse cataracts naturally? It depends. Find out what causes cataracts, tips for natural cataract reversal, the connection between cataracts and blood sugar, and the best eye health tips to support your eyes long term.
Can you reverse cataracts naturally, especially if you’re over 50 years old? Well, the honest answer to that is it depends on how far it’s gone. If you get it in the early stages, yes, you can reverse it. If it’s too far gone, you can’t reverse it. To understand cataracts, you have to understand where they occur.
They occur in the lens of the eye, this little lens right here. It’s a protein that’s completely transparent. You can see through it. As the lens ages, it deliberately destroys every single organelle inside the lens. So, the lens must maintain this crystal clear transparency.
In doing that, it sacrifices several things. Because now it no longer has a mitochondria, which means it has to get its energy outside the mitochondria from a different program, and it has to use glucose as its fuel. The lens only produces a very small amount of energy, only two units of energy or two ATP. What it did is it sacrificed for transparency a much lowered energy efficiency system. But, this glucose that feeds the lens does not need oxygen.
The lens also has no blood supply. So, the glucose is fed passively. So, whatever glucose is surrounding that lens, that’s the fuel it gets. And also, another thing about the lens is that you can’t replace the cells. You’re born with a certain amount of lens cells, and that’s it.
Okay, so you really have to take care of your lens, and I’m going to show you what you should do to take care of it. There’s a vulnerableness to this lens that has to do with too much sugar in your body. That sugar is going to bind with the protein in your lens and render it no longer usable. Okay, it’s going to destroy that. And the word for that is called glycation.
You have the same thing happening in the red blood cells. In fact, that’s how they diagnose diabetes. When you get your A1C tested, what they’re measuring is how much of that protein, that hemoglobin in the red blood cell, is glycated. So, with your red blood cells, you can keep making more of those, but unfortunately, with the lens, you don’t have that luxury. But, the point is, when that sugar gets elevated chronically, you start developing advanced glycation end products.
Too much sugar that’s connected with protein in the body, and it’s going to make your lens opaque, so you can’t see through it. AKA, a cataract. Bread, for example, that’s toasted, you not only have these things, you also have the spike in blood sugar. And this is the problem with glycation. The most damage from glycation happens inside your body when you eat food.
And the problem with the lens of the eye, there’s really no protection against that glucose. Like other tissues are protected in certain ways, but not the lens of the eye. But, here’s what’s really interesting, they have found that cataracts actually start happening way before even pre-diabetes. It’s not just the high sugar, it’s the high insulin that can also mess up the lens of the eye and other tissues because high levels of insulin cause inflammation. I mean, even if you’ve ever watched any of my videos on fasting, there’s something very beneficial about fasting, and that’s called autophagy, where your body’s cleaning up all these damaged glycated proteins that are unusable.
How do you get in a state of autophagy where you can clean that up? There’s only one way, by lowering insulin through fasting. The secret to reversing cataracts and preventing cataracts is making sure that you avoid not just sugar, fructose. You must avoid fructose, and I’m mainly talking about high fructose corn syrup. That’s the real bad stuff.
The second thing that will keep the insulin elevated and create cataracts is snacking, frequent eating. This is why fasting is so important if you’re trying to prevent cataracts. Or even if you’re starting to get an early cataract, you should be doing intermittent fasting immediately. So, a lot of people ask me, “What supplements do I recommend? ” Now, of course, I’m not biased with my own high-quality supplement line.
But if you go to Amazon and type Dr. Berg supplements, you’ll find more information. The third thing is ketosis. When you go into ketosis, you will be naturally benefiting or creating an environment for these cataracts not to exist anymore. How do you get into ketosis?
By lowering insulin and your carbs. Go on a low-carb diet. Certain phytonutrients actually protect the eye, like cruciferous vegetables, for example. Zinc is also important. Exercise is important, but especially another compound, it’s a powerful antioxidant called carnosine.
If you have enough carnosine, the chances of getting a cataract are much less. Where do you get carnosine from? Mostly from animal protein, meat. Now, why did I even bring this up? Because the antidote, the best remedy for early cataracts is something called N-acetyl carnosine.
And you’ll probably see it as NAC, but here’s the big confusion. If you’re looking for this remedy online, you may pick the wrong NAC because there’s two types of NAC. The one that you don’t want is called N-acetyl cysteine, and the other one that you do want is called N-acetyl carnosine. Unfortunately, carnosine doesn’t necessarily penetrate the eye very easily. Okay, so you need a delivery system.
Thus, the acetyl little part of this, right? It takes carnosine and helps push it through the eyes because you would take this as drops right on the eye itself. Plus, it protects it and it acts as an antioxidant. And if you get it early enough, you can reverse the cloudiness in that lens. There’s been some interesting research on dogs cuz if you look on Amazon, you will find a lot of products for dogs.
And if it works for an animal, why wouldn’t it work for a human? I have a free download that I want to give to you. This free download is my daily routine in a checklist. This is a routine that I use every day to feel like I’m 18 years old, even though I’m 60 years old, and I want to give it to you for free. And so there’s a little link down below, click it, and definitely download that.
Now, another side note that I highly recommend, if you actually grill your steak or you cook meat, you have to be aware that you could be generating some of these. And also marinating the meat in either certain vinegars or even lemon juice to reduce the AGEs. Also, zeaxanthin and lutein from egg yolks are very beneficial and I highly recommend you do have eggs at least a couple times a week to increase those two phytonutrients to actually protect the eye. And the last thing I want to mention is super important. As we age, we decrease our ability to get rid of all the accumulated garbage that happens from our diet.
In fact, when you reach the age of 80, your ability to get rid of these advanced glycated end products like almost goes down to zero. So the normal house cleaning of the body called autophagy becomes super important when you fast. That’s why this next video is so important. It’s on fasting and autophagy. Check it out right here.
