is your workout getting stale it might be time to break out the cards the athleen burst Aces wild workout coming at you what’s up guys Jeff Cavalier athleanx. com you know I talked about it in the open workout boredom it’s one of the fastest ways for guys to stop training because let’s face it if you don’t like what you’re doing then there’s nobody in the right mind that’s can continue to do that unless they’re either a masochist that likes to put themselves through a lot of discomfort or is actually just okay with the fact that they’re not getting results but they think that doing something is the right thing to do with aex I’m going to show you that it doesn’t have to be that way you can do things that work and are fun and interesting at the same time we call it athlan burs training today we’re breaking one out Aces High we’re using a deck of cards here’s the setup for this what you have to do take out all your jok and things like that remove the twos from the deck so four twos get them out then take all your Aces and face cards put them in one stack get the rest of the cards here put them together okay you got two stacks here your faces face cards and Aces and the second ones right now we’re going to worry about these guys you’re going to mix them up okay a lot of uh the the effectiveness of this workout is the unpredictability of what you deal yourself and the fact is the fact that we have them varied in in uh and shuffled means that every time you do this it could be a different outcome now what we do with these now that they’re shuffled up is place them I’m in a basketball court here today you don’t have to be you could be anywhere you be in your backyard anywhere you have some space I’m going to take them from the top of the key here or from the top of the uh fou line I’m going to put one face down next one about a foot apart or so and to come all the way down the line almost worked out perfectly okay next we take those other ones out of our pocket these also shuffled up okay now what does this all represent the face cards are going to represent an exercise our Jack is going to be a step through push-up I’ll show you how to do each one the uh Queen is going to be something we call a Mountain Mule again I’ll show you what it looks like and our King is going to be a split squat jump okay the eight Ace this is where we get the name the aces high or a is wild what we have basically is I might to call it AIS high it’s Aces wild it’s a wild exercise combo which means you got to do every exercise the Jack the Queen the king every time you see the ace okay these are going to stand for our reps so we take again face down and we pile them up in front or to the side you know just right here and you’ll see I got n left so it’s perfectly symmetrical now the workout I start at one end I’m going to side shuffle all the way down here to this end I flip over the card the exercise card which if you do it first I got an ace right off the bat now what does that mean it means that I have to do all three of those exercises but how many times we flip over a rep card eight of them all right so I have to do eight reps each here at this station I’ll show you we’re going to do demonstrate this soon as I’m done with them I shuffled back all the way to here now a quick note if you don’t want to do shuffles all the time you could do Sprint down to the other side and back but as you see as I complete these I’m going to work my way in and then I’m going to come back to the start and work my way in again okay two times through so let’s get this started I’ll show you what it’s going to look like all right guys so here we go going to start it right here again Shuffle down to the end first I already know unfortunately I was waiting for me it’s Ace down there so I shuffle down come here the C eight over eight so you know I got to do Jacks eight reps on the jack eight reps on the [Music] the eight m [Music] [Music] mules and then eight split squat jumps down one 2 [Music] 3 Shuffle down L Queen down nine [Music] [Music] left up down Jack step two push-ups seven I’m getting all the high [Music] numbers up slide down Jack again seven down [Applause] [Music] [Music] Cen mountain m you already SE that 10 reps now we keep going now guys let’s say again if I already go all the way down I might be unlucky enough in the middle here which should be the end that I get an ace that’s a queen if I got an Ace and you might not be able to do everything you’re supposed to guys look it’s your race not mine all right so if it was me I would push through and do everything I could if you can’t though then try to do as many reps as you can at that point give yourself a breather after the whole round and then come back remember work your way in one more time flipping over that last card for your reps guys we call it athl verse training it’s just one component of the athletex system it’s our conditioning it’s our form of conditioning to complement our strength workouts the idea is to challenge your body strengthwise as you can see through a lot of movements we do at the same time work our endurance and conditioning just a couple rounds of that already has me huffing and puffing it’s hard okay that’s the way we condition that’s the way we’re able to preserve muscle and burn fat at the same time and
