Shoot, shoot, shoot. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,

Geez, Jesse, you made that look like it was actually hard.Yeah, it hurt like a . It’s an arm hang. It’s a simple exercise. You think it’s simple. Actually, he’s right. See, the arm hang is one of thoseunderappreciated exercises that kind of sneaks in and just kills you when you do it. Now,I would like to take that to the next level though, Jesse, and say, how about for just 100 seconds?

Want to make 100 bucks? I would love to make 100 bucks.Well, there’s a challenge out there called the 100 second $100 challenge. If you can just simplyhang from the bar for 100 seconds, you get 100 bucks. All right, cool. All right. So now the point of this is I actually love the dead arm hang exercise. I actuallyinclude it in a lot of our programming. I’ve actually used it as one of our competition

exercises in our AthleanX games. And I even did a video on it six years ago where I think I loggeda time of like 2.11 hanging from the bar. So you would think that I would probably win thea hundred bucks. You would think. You would think. However, we want to put this thing to the test. And the way to do that is by actually following the challenge. It’s not by doing it with astraight bar. It’s by doing it with a rotating bar. And there’s supposedly a big difference. So

we tested ourselves again to get our baseline. And that’s what we have here. A little head to headaction, Jesse and I. Now don’t get distracted if you see Jesse drop out of the picture before I do.Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa now.You know, I mean, okay, listen, I get it. I got a little bit of a manager.I had a respectable time.

The benefits though are deep here on this exercise. Again, shoulder stability, something that people don’t talk enough about why we do it. Grip strength,in forearm strength and stamina. Yep. And then sort of the old fashioned mental fortitude andtoughness. Yeah. Because as you can see here, hanging from this bar is pretty tough. Yeah,I’m burning right here. I can promise you that. It takes a lot of guts to get through this. What

are you thinking by the time, by the way, when you’re up there? Oh, I’m thinking about a galaxyfar, far away. Yeah, I figured. So I think you’re getting close here to maybe, to maybe dropping.I could see it in your face. Oh yeah. So across the two minute mark. Oh, oh, oh. Oh, you’re dressingthe hands. Oh. All right. So you’re out. Now we’ll, we’ll talk comfortably here for a littlewhile because I’m still up there. Oh yeah, look at you.

All right. So now, as I continue to watch me, actually I’m coming to an end here. I couldtell you that. Right about now. All right. So 251. All right. I’m going to give you a challenge.Okay. I’m going to give you a chance to wina hundred bucks. All right. Perfect. So based on that, what do you think? Two minutes and eight seconds. Can you make the 140?

I don’t see why not. 28 seconds less.Yeah, I think I got it. Should be easy enough. So we’re going to takean Olympic bar, put it up on top of our rack so we have that spinning component to it.And Jesse, give me your 100 bucks. Remember, you got to put up 100 to win 100.Oh, I’m going to take that 100 back.

Good luck. Here we go.Oh, shit. It’s already rotating.Your four seconds.Oh, no.

No.Come on, don’t make it look that hard. It’s way harder than the regular hang. What are you going to spend $100 on?I don’t know, maybe more Shake Shack.

Shake Shack?I don’t know how to do Shake Shack. That would go a long way probably. How are you doing? This is really, really difficult.

I don’t know. It’s way harder?Oh my god, this is probably ten times harder. You weren’t even flinching before at the 37 second mark.Well, I’m flinching now.

Come on, you’re good.Hang up there, buddy.Oh, my forearms are burning.Well, hang in there. No pressure.

There’s millions of people watching you, that’s all. They certainly don’t want to see you fail before a minute. You’re at a minute. You’ve got 40 seconds left. Can you bear it down?

I think so.All right, let’s go.$100.Oh, my stomach is sweating.Don’t worry.

My calves are heavy.Don’t worry about it.I’m going to do it.I’m going to do it.I’m going to do it.

I’m going to do it.I’m going to do it.Don’t worry about it.Minute 17.Come on.

Hold it.Hold it.125.Damn it.Jesse.

Jesse.I’ll put this back in my pocket.Oh, my forearm’s wrong.Look, can you even grab it if you had to?No.

No.My hands, they’re stuck.Look, in a minute 40 there.I don’t know what to do with my hands.I don’t know what to do with my hands.

I got a couple ideas for you. She’s just a nice Chris Hunter.Thank you, buddy.I’m going to use this.Yeah, I’m going to need that back.

I’m a little strapped for cash.COVID’s killing me right now.You want it back?Yeah, I’d love it back. And therefore, I’m going to challenge you to the same thing that I had to do.

You got to get up on that rotating bar and dead arm hang. You were aware that I did 251, right? So then this should be no problem for you, right?I guess you’re right.I got to put up a hundred? You put up a hundred. What happens if I win? Then you’re only 200 bucks.

We’re not talking about that. All right, here, let’s go. I’m up. Two, one, jump.Oh, all right. Easy or hard? Hard. Yeah, right? I didn’t think it was easy. Are you sleeping?I’m closing your eyes is that what helps you?I’m getting the zone.Oh, what kind of zone is that?

The danger zone? It’s crazy, it’s way harder. It’s way harder, isn’t it?Yeah.Well, you’re at 30 seconds so you can get to two minutes.

I’m at 140.40.Oh.You look like you’re falling asleep there, bud.Is that your tactic to win?

I’m trying to drive you out.I don’t think you’ll be able to do that so easily. You really want that $100 from me, don’t you?You take that out of my paycheck?Yep.

It’s going to take a couple paychecks to get it, if I’m correct.Oh, that’s not very nice.I would get paid enough for this.Where we at?You’re at 111, 12, 13, 14, 15.

All right, come on, buddy.Oh, I can see your triceps are shaking a little bit.Where you at?You’re at 124.What’s the count?

You got 10 seconds left.Five, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one. You’re good.Let’s see how much longer you can hold.Oh, he’s losing it.

Readjust your grip.Readjust it.Time.You’re at 150.Oh, man.

Sorry, buddy.Well, actually, as a matter of fact, I do get to keep this.hang up there for two minutes. I’m talking about two minutes. It’s a minute 40.
