as we turn the corner of July into August we’re heading into the dog dayses of Summer but are you dogging on your workouts well it might be time for a July jolt and I’m going to give it to you as only athleen X [Music] can what’s up everybody Jeff Cavalier aex. com I mentioned the dog days of summer are here but you know what happens is people start dogging on their workouts when it comes to July and August and the reason being is they think Well gez everybody’s already seen me with my shirt off I didn’t like the way I looked but there’s nothing I can do about it now I’m here to show you today that there absolutely is something you can do and it starts with today’s workout cuz we’re going to give you something called the July jel and this is a workout you can start doing as soon as this video is over and you can start seeing what athleen x training is like if you haven’t already signed up and come on board team athleen this is going to give you a sample of what it’s like when you train like an athlete you’re going to start feeling it right away and that’s what we want so we have the July jolt now what is it what is that well it’s seven exercises right July is the month 7th month 31 reps a piece there’s 31 days in July we’re almost there at the end of it now you got to make it through this whole thing before we hit August or the eth month eight minutes okay seven exercises 31 reps before you hit the 8 Minute Mark sounds easy maybe but wait till you see the exercises here we go the exercises start off here with sort of our it’s you’re going to be inside of a um a pull-up bar if you have one or if you have something that you can go a little bit lower hang a bar across here AB launches so what you’re going to do is get underneath I have a Smith machine here that I just said about mid height going to get over here suspend yourself get your legs up and then Thrust out bring them in thrust them out at an angle all the way straight up okay keep it going all the way up till you hit 31 reps next one knee up pull-ups okay I’ll do them from this way but you again I like this in a low setting because there’s no room for error your feet have to stay above the ground so you got to keep your legs up higher which causes your abs to work more if you’re up on a regular pull-up bar it’s not as tough so again let me just raise it one notch knees are up pull up if you have to rest let’s save the rest just take as little as you need here and then start cranking out reps again okay all the way until you’re done next a favorite of mine burpees we’re going to make them a little bit more difficult lateral burpee so you can put a t-shirt down here on the ground anything you want but a lateral burpee is down out up hop over down and up okay so a little bit of that lateral movement next something called a bench body thrust over okay so what does it look like get a bench put your hands in the middle quickly this is where you can make up some time cuz you might had to rest a little bit there hands in the middle feet out to the side up support weight land on the other side quick feet okay quick Landings all the way down arms are working chest is working okay shoulders are working next we have rotational tubing presses so I have cables down here I have it set at about 20 to 30 lbs of resistance in each hand you can easily use one of the athenex black classic bands which provides 20 to 40 lbs of resistance so you got them anchored low okay one on each side but for me okay get them up up tall arms up here okay wide open I’m going to press and rotate and then from here as I come down press and rotate that way okay what we want to do though is go faster and every two counts as one okay we keep it all the way going straight through okay 31 31 next I haven’t killed myself enough squat jump tucks all right down up down up okay 31 through grab your low bands one more time going meet in the middle chest thrusters right up here firm base up and meet in the middle explosive okay 31 that’s it like I said last week I was just getting warmed up and I said I’d bring to you even harder workouts bigger and better things to come this is what it’s about but here’s the lesson just because the weather is hot you may not feel as energetic as you did when the summer started it doesn’t mean you give up on your workouts now guys you got to start your workouts Now set the stage so that when you decide to commit again to working out in the fall you’re not building off of zero base you have a good strong base so you when hit the gym in September like I know some of you will you’re waiting in this July August time your body will be ready and look better than ever cuz you will been training it all along and guys when you train like an athlete you
