[Music] he [Music] hey guys what’s up Jeff Cavalier here from aex. com bringing to you no not my twin brother jumping jack Casio you’re going to see a little bit more of this guy in the future some of you have asked for a jump training program I brought in the best I brought in a guy that knows what he’s doing here now I thought for this week a cool way to show you some of the unique ways that we train legs in the athl X Program is with explosive movements if you’re going to want to want to build an athletic body the number one prerequisite is can you incorporate explosive movements into what you’re doing and absolutely the answer is yes you just got to do the right things and do them in a way that’s kind of fun and challenging so what I put together here with Jack is a four exercise circuit uh similar again to what we we’re going to be asking you to do in in ax some really cool explosive you know way ways to train your lower body a four exercise circuit that you’re going to go through I’ll take first exercise one and three this guy can take two and four and maybe give me a little bit of a break but as we’re doing each of the exercises I’ll show you why you know why we’re doing what we’re doing so I’ll start off I’m going to basically grab a kettle bell and going be doing a side to side hop a skier or hop with the kettle bell involve the upper body by doing this you’re going to see that the core gets involved as well so I basically keep my my kettle bell in here I’m going to hop across and I’m going to reach up here as a press so going to hop across and load and load right when I reach up here I’m feeling my core really to stabilize you see me kind of squat down that’s to help me load up and then I load I hop back and forth 10 Landings on each leg Jack takes over show something you need to do now all right this next one it’s kind of like the last one what you do you’re going to land on the same leg that you jump off of it takes a lot of balance so you’re going to hold this you’re going to press in the in air like like Jeff was just doing and you’re going to load up just like keep preaches you guys got to get that load going so you’re right here jump and now you’re stick that Landing land on the same leg see how I landed on that inside leg now you switch back to the outside so it’s here press switch oh see I shrew up there so here we go good so that’s a little bit more complex if you want to start a little bit easier just shorter shorter Landing points ex don’t try to extend it so far out next one that I do here version of the Bulgarian split squat I’m basically going to go down going to call it like you know alternating pickups going to come down here first time down going to pick that thing up second time down I’m going to put it down so basically up explode down explode want to make it a little harder clean it high all right so working 10 or 12 each arm go right into the other leg what’s the last one we got single leg butt kicks single leg butt kicks okay so what you want to do with these is you’re going to be on one leg okay so say I’m going to choose my left leg this right leg is useless for the rest of the exercise so you come right here and you want to jump up so you want to build some elastic energy through through that little little squat that I’m doing here a little quarter squat jump up and you’re going to you’re going to touch your heel to your butt so what it looks like is this but if you can’t hit your butt you can start halfway or work your way up so if you start here that’s what it looks like but then when you get good jump up kick your butt I’m kind of building momentum with my arms here I’m do from this side now see how I’m kicking my butt and you land lightly every time tell you guys more than just that exercise kicks your butt cuz this whole little circuit will kick your butt but this is what it’s all about if you want to follow kind of the same old boring routine and get the same results you’ve been getting then that’s what you do but if you want to elevate you know your game here take it to another level you want to start doing exercises that challenge your body in a different way and if you’re going to build athletic muscle which is what I always talk about that lean athletic look ripped but muscular at the same time you’re building muscle you got to be doing EXP exposive movements and incorporating them into your lower body so athx is all about you know getting ways that you could incorporate these type of explosive movements into your workouts at home and
